Meta wants an AI agent to help run your business
Meta has given Muse, its AI agent, business skills and connections to tools such as Shopify, QuickBooks and Canva, plus access to Facebook, Instagram and ad accounts. It is only in the US and Canada for now, but it shows where small business marketing is heading.

Imagine telling an assistant to find you more customers, and it goes away, reads your sales, your social accounts and your ad results, then comes back with a plan and a draft campaign. That is what Meta is aiming for with Muse for Small Business, announced in its newsroom on 29 September 2026.
Muse itself is Meta's personal AI agent, launched on 8 September 2026 for adults in the US and now available in the US and Canada on iOS, Android and the web. The business version is not a new app. It is a set of skills and connections added to the same agent.
The tools it plugs into
Meta listed fifteen at launch: Asana, Box, Canva, Dropbox, Figma, Granola, HighLevel, Intuit QuickBooks, Klaviyo, Lovable, Notion, Shopify, Slack, Stripe and Zoom. It also links to a business's Facebook and Instagram accounts and accepts custom connections. The Next Web and The Star report that it can read Instagram professional analytics, Facebook Pages and Meta ad accounts.
The jobs Meta describes
- Reading sales, campaign and social results, and drafting a plan to grow.
- Going through the finances and pointing out unusual spending.
- Spotting which ads and posts work, and drafting the next campaign.
- Taming a crowded inbox and calendar, with replies written for you.
- Proposing what to do next before you ask.
Meta stresses that nothing is published, sent or spent without the owner's approval. Its announcement does not mention Meta Business Suite, Ads Manager by name or WhatsApp Business.
Popular, with help
Meta has not published Muse usage figures itself. Sensor Tower estimated that the app passed 5 million US downloads on 30 September, 22 days after launch, and The Information reported more than 3 million weekly active users. Meta has advertised the app heavily, which helps explain the pace. According to Meta's Vishal Shah, around a third of early testers linked Muse to business accounts.
Cost and countries
Meta says Muse is free within usage limits, with paid plans for heavier use, and no separate business price. Reports of 20 and 100 dollar monthly tiers have not been confirmed by Meta. It works in the US and Canada only, and Meta has not said when other countries follow, so it is not yet available to businesses in the UAE or Saudi Arabia.
How to get ready
- Tidy your data. An agent can only plan from what it can read, so clean sales records, consistent product information and properly set up ad accounts matter more than ever.
- Decide who holds the keys. Treat an AI agent with access to your accounts like a new hire: choose what it can see and who signs off its work.
- Question the numbers. An AI-drafted plan is a starting point. Ask what data it used before acting on it.
- Keep the human parts human. Local knowledge, Arabic that sounds natural, relationships with creators and media, and judgement about your brand are not things an agent brings.
Muse also connects to Meta One, Meta's subscription launched on 15 September 2026, whose plans include more AI image and video generation through Muse models. AI across Meta's apps is becoming something businesses pay for.
