Six months of UAE moments every brand should plan for
Global Village, the Dubai Fitness Challenge, National Day, GITEX, the Shopping Festival, the 1 Billion Followers Summit and Ramadan all land between now and March. Here are the dates, confirmed and pending, and how to use them.

The cooler months are when the UAE comes alive, and when marketing calendars fill up. These are the moments worth planning for between October 2026 and March 2027, checked against official and press sources at the start of October.
This month
- Dubai Lynx moves to October this year: talks on 6 and 7 October at Dubai Media City, awards on 8 October.
- Global Village opens Season 31 on 14 October under the theme A More Wonderful World, running until May 2027. Entry is 25 dirhams on weekdays and 30 at weekends.
- The Dubai Fitness Challenge returns for its tenth year on 31 October and runs to 29 November.
November
- Dubai Ride on 1 November.
- Dubai Design Week, 3 to 8 November in Dubai Design District, with Downtown Design from 4 to 8 November.
- Sharjah International Book Fair, 4 to 15 November, with Oman as guest of honour.
- Dubai Run on 22 November, with 5km and 10km routes. More than 300,000 took part last year.
December
- National Day holiday on 2 and 3 December.
- Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, 4 to 6 December.
- Abu Dhabi Finance Week, 7 to 10 December.
- GITEX Global, 7 to 11 December at Expo City Dubai, and Expand North Star, 8 to 10 December.
- Dubai Shopping Festival dates were not announced by early October. Last edition ran from 5 December 2025 to 11 January 2026.
- New Year's Eve plans were also still to be announced.
Early 2027
- New Year's Day falls on a Friday.
- The 1 Billion Followers Summit returns from 8 to 10 January. The 2026 edition attracted more than 30,000 attendees and 15,000 creators.
- Ramadan is expected to begin around 8 February, depending on the moon sighting.
- Eid Al Fitr is expected around 9 to 11 March, or from 10 March if Ramadan runs a full 30 days.
What the summer told us
Dubai Summer Surprises 2026 drew more than 1,000 brands and 4,000 outlets over 60 days, and organisers reported in September a 110 percent rise in average consumer spending across its sale and back to school campaigns. Shoppers clearly respond to the city's festivals, which also means competition for their attention.
Matching moments to brands
- Health, fitness and sportswear: own the Dubai Fitness Challenge month.
- Retail and hospitality: build the season around Global Village and the Shopping Festival.
- Technology: plan around GITEX in December.
- Creator partnerships: January's summit puts thousands of creators in one city.
- Every brand: start Ramadan planning before the year ends.
